This project studies obstacles to implementing bike-sharing programs in underserved communities. Results could inform better bike-share access for such communities.

The goal of this research is to identify how rural zero-car households in California meet their transportation needs, and what policy solutions might improve access and mobility for these households.

This study will examine how transit system characteristics –including frequencies, routes, and travel times –are associated with ridership, with a focus on buses.

This project focuses on answering research questions pertaining to what travel modes do people shift from when they use micromobility services, how frequently do people use micromobility services, how different are users and non-users in terms of attitudes and travel behavior, potential barriers for widespread adoption, and how variations in micromobility services differ in their appeal to users and in the attitudes of non-users.

This project will develop a framework to optimize the location of bikeshare stations to mitigate the barriers between affordable housing and transit services. To achieve this, the multi-objective optimization process will consider both bikeshare trip demand, transit service schedule, available affordable housing units, and other geographic information.

This panel study improves the understanding of the impacts of emerging technologies and transportation trends through the application of a unique longitudinal approach, comparing data from 2015 with data from 2018.

This research will develop plausible scenarios for land-based passenger mobility over a ten-year horizon leading to 2030, and evaluate potential outcomes and impacts.

This seed grant will include an evaluation of the potential strategies and programs to achieve the goals of the California Integrated Travel Project (Cal-ITP).

This dissertation synthesizes three different studies in order to evaluate how housing and land use impact amount of vehicle miles traveled.

This project documents how the 2018 bike-share program in the Sacramento region impacted local travel behavior. Researchers conducted a before-and-after analysis on bicycling, transit use, and vehicle miles of travel.
