NCST Education Program

Greenhouse gas mitigation and climate adaptation are relatively new to the transportation community. Training the next generation of leaders and experts on this issue is urgently needed. Equally important is the training of current professionals and policy makers.

The National Center for Sustainable Transportation’s education program enhances existing graduate and workforce development programs by building a model sustainable-transportation curriculum for graduate programs and developing advanced training programs for professionals. These interdisciplinary programs are designed to meet the world’s growing needs for qualified, thoughtful, and dedicated transportation professionals, including engineers, planners, technicians, policy makers, and advocates.

The NCST offers funding for undergraduate and graduate students studying sustainable transportation and supports K-12 school students by supporting field trips, research, and transportation-related curriculum development.
