Exploring Microtransit Adoption and Impacts on Transportation Access of Underserved Populations

This research focuses on transportation of underserved people in the Sacramento area of California and aims to explore their barriers to and facilitators of adoption of a technology-enabled on-demand service—microtransit—and how and to what extent it helps get access to services and employment by employing quantitative methods based on data collected through phone and intercept surveys.

Improving Transportation Information Resilience: Error Estimation for Networked Sensor Data

This project focuses on the problem of error detection and data recovery of partially malfunctioning sensors that could provide valuable information. The results of three network examples with different scales demonstrate the applicability of the proposed method in a large variety of scenarios. This research improves fundamental knowledge on transportation data analytics as well as the effective management of data and information infrastructure in transportation practice.
