The aim of this research project is to collect new information about household travel behavior, how households may respond to increased transportation fuel costs, and information about real and perceived barriers to avoiding higher transportation fuel costs in diverse rural communities.

This study aims to first evaluate support for various Mileage based user fee programs in a diverse range of community types, including small and rural communities that have not been the focus of prior research.

This project evaluates the motivations and emissions impacts of individuals choosing car or plane travel for long-distance trips.

This project will evaluate the reasons that public transit riders return (or do not return) to transit in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.

This research will evaluate the relationship between travel and the built environment in rural regions. The results of this research will inform GHG mitigation and transportation and land use planning in rural regions across the US.

The research team will evaluate travel burdens in constrained populations in the US using self-reported and inferred data from a large US survey.

This project studies patterns and impacts related to long-distance travel and tourism in Vermont.

This project reviews the growing literature related to the application of alterative and novel paving materials and green stormwater infrastructure to reduce urban heat islands.

This project will implement an open source and/or free-for-public-use activity-based travel demand model in Vermont.
