Measuring Land Use Performance from a Transportation Perspective: Policy, Plan, and Outcome

January 26, 2016
10:00AM-11:30AM

Location

Caltrans Headquarters, Basement Boardroom
1120 N Street, Sacramento, CA

Speaker

Gian-Claudia Scara – Researcher, National Center for Sustainable Transportation, University of California, Davis

Event Overview

This presentation will explore the current knowledge and knowledge gaps about linkages between upstream land use policy and downstream land use impacts. Understanding these connections is important for gauging how California’s SB 375 and policies like it might perform. Focusing specifically on land use and transportation relationships, the presentation will synthesize research on the potential for shaping local land use to reduce vehicle miles travelled (and hence, greenhouse gas emissions).
