Measuring Household Mobility and Travel Patterns with Partial Vehicle Automation

  • Principal Investigator Aviv Steren, Ph.D
  • University of California, Davis
This project will use partial vehicle automation systems (SAE Level 2) as a real-world setting to study how vehicle automation technologies influence household mobility, travel demand, and transportation system performance under current market conditions. This project will combine nationwide survey data and a longitudinal panel of California households using econometric analysis to help planners and transportation agencies anticipate regional travel patterns, infrastructure demand, and economic impacts.
