The goal of this project is to develop a connected automation-enabled cooperative management framework for mixed traffic. The framework aims to cover cooperative perception, behavior understanding for human-driven vehicles, and performance optimization for the overall system in terms of safety, mobility, and environmental sustainability by controlling the connected and automated vehicles or the infrastructures. The benefit of the proposed system includes improving the safety of both connected and automated vehicles and traditional human-driven vehicles, reducing the energy consumption of the overall traffic system, and increasing mobility.
