Event Overview
It is no secret that transportation is facing a funding crisis. The Highway Trust Fund is nearing insolvency, California’s highway system faces a $59 billion backlog in deferred maintenance, and local roads are falling into disrepair requiring mounting costs to fix. Join us for a timely discussion on transportation funding challenges at the local, state, and federal level; viable short term and long term funding solutions currently being considered; and how various funding solutions compare in the context of broader environmental, societal, and economic goals.
The forum brought together transportation professionals, planners, and policymakers from all levels of government and from the private sector to discuss goals and strategies for short and long term funding and financing options for our local, regional, and state transportation networks. Participants can expect to gain a better understanding of transportation funding challenges at the local, state, and federal level; learn about viable short term and long term funding solutions being considered; and be part of a dialog on how various funding solutions compare in the context of broader environmental, societal, and economic goals.
