Bio

Sara is the Engagement Director for the National Center for Sustainable Transportation (NCST), where she leads strategies to connect transportation research with policymakers, practitioners, and other key audiences to maximize real-world impact. In this role, she collaborates closely with researchers to shape policy-relevant priorities, manages engagement activities such as briefings and symposia, and represents the NCST and ITS-Davis in statewide and national policy forums.

Previously, Sara served as Director of Operations and Engagement at the UC Davis Policy Institute for Energy, Environment, and the Economy, overseeing program administration, fiscal management, and external engagement initiatives. Prior to joining ITS-Davis in 2018, she spent three years as Deputy Director of the California Association of Resource Conservation Districts, leading statewide legislative engagement and capacity-building efforts. Her policy career began at 350.org, where she coordinated national climate policy and civic engagement campaigns. She holds a B.A. in Environmental Studies from San Francisco State University and graduated with distinction from Humboldt State University with a M.A. in Sociology.
